Posting campur campur

Banyak sebenarnya nak tulis, tp sebab malas sgt. maka semua tersimpan aje. Tp rasa rugi pulak bila tak rekodkan aktiviti2 jahit menjahit ni. Jd sy ringkaskan semuanya dlm satu post ni..

1. Dah hampir setahun sy mengambil tempahan menjahit dress kanak-kanak. Dalam banyak2 tempahan, ada sekali terima tempahan dari seorang mama ni yang minta dibuatkan flower girl dress utk puterinya yang comel. Dia ada send hp pic (tak berapa sharp) tp terserlah kecomelan puteri nya tu. So rasa nak share kat sini..

2. Keputusan 2x scan baby dlm peyut ni menampakkan rezeki ketiga ni juga Boy. Maka musnah lagi harapan sy utk menjahit gaun2 comel utk anak sendiri. Oleh sebab itu baju2 yg saya jahitkan untuk koleksi sendiri akan sy masukkan / iklankan dlm FB saya utk dijual. Harga padan2 modal aje..:)

3. Berikutan itu juga saya menjadikan dress2 tersebut sebagai hadiah kelahiran baby girl kaum keluarga dan kawan2. Kat bwh ni antara gambar2 yang sempat diambil.

4. Kain american cotton serta pattern untuk tempahan boleh anda lihat di FB saya sebagaimana berikut. KAIN & PATTERN. PANEL yang comel-comel pun ada. Tempahan dibuka lagi sementara saya masih mampu menjahit dan akan stop just before Ramadhan (coz due date waktu tu).

5. Sekarang saya baru membuka tempahan untuk PARTY Dress yang kiut miut pada harga pembukaan iaitu RM60 untuk fabrik tempatan / RM90 untuk fabrik American Cotton (Harga sebenar jauh lebih tinggi kerana penggunaan kain yang agak banyak). 5 tempahan yang pertama sahaja akan dapat harga ni, selebihnya akan mengikut kadar biasa. Post panjang lebar tentang party dress ni boleh tengok kat SINI.

6. Sempena hari guru yang lepas sy sempat jahitkan 3 pencil case dlm masa beberapa jam coz Ariz bgtau nak bg hadiah pd 3 gurunya. Aduhai lupe, kalo tak, boleh buat yg cun-cun sket.

7. Lain2 hasil jahitan sempena musim malas memblog ni..:)

Mama Love You, Idlan Hadi

Post dah lama tp baru hari ni rasa nak menulis. Malas sgt nak update blog skrg ni. Badan makin tak larat bila kandungan dah menjengah 7 bulan :(.
Okeh, since ni adalah post utk besday anakanda kedua, Hadi, posting nya mestilah relate ngan Hadi kan. Memang byk bezanya stail anak kedua ngan anak pertama. Hadi setakat hari ni masih menten independant, tak banyak kerenah, dan sgt senang dijaga. Masa kecik ingatkan tak byk ckp mcm abg sbb dia lambat sikit dpt mulut. Rupanya bila dah pandai bercakap petah lah sgt mulutnya.

Satu hal yg agak tak larat ialah Hadi ni suka sgt explore benda2 dan baut perangai bahaya. Minat sgt ngan gedget2 or brg2 yg 'jantan' mcm alat2 elektrik, main bertukang, etc. Pernah nyaris nak terbakar rumah nenek bila hadi bakar tilam dalam eksperimen mencuba mancis api (kenangan x dpt lupa..huh). Hadi juga boleh masuk kategori budak yg suka kacau orang. Kat babysitter, mmg selalu je dpt aduan. Ngan abangnya mcm ayam ngan musang. Hmm, agaknya general trait anak kedua mmg mcm ni kot.

Word yg plg dia suka saat ni ialah 'kentut'. Semua ayat dia mesti nak taruk perkataan kentut. Isk, mcm tadak word lain yg decent sket..:P. Ayat yg jd favourite hadi ialah, Okeyyyyyylah...dan takde apa yahhhh!.

Okey, so utk besday hadi, mama buatkan dia satu quilt ABC daripada Deb Strain I Love U panel. Sewn with love tu..ambik masa seminggu jugak nak siapkan sbb terpaksa hand stitch utk quilting coz mama lom mahir guna machine quilting. Hepi coz hadi sgt suka, berbaloi buat utk anak tercinta. Kalo nak dijual dgn harga RM300 pun belum tentu mama akan buat..:)

Utk Hadi, mama doakan moga membesar sebagai anak soleh, bakal pemuda kebanggaan Islam..Mama love you, Hadi.

REVERSIBLE BUCKET BAG versi tak sabar

I know i'm lack of patience. Especially when it comes to sewing, i normally don't procrastinate. Soon after i decided to join a sewalong hosted by Sue of MyBotang which was scheduled to be completed by 14th March, i take a few hours of my precious weekend to complete the project.

I sooooo love the result, mainly because i love those fabrics..and it is soo easy too. This one is gonna be a present for one of my good friend and I already plan of making a smaller version for myself. 

I'm using Lecien's Flower Sugar for the outside and Tanya Whelan's Ava Rose for the inside.Turns the inside out and have the feeling of carrying a Cath Kidston..:)

The boys love it soo much (or maybe they have nothing interesting to play with) they take turns (actually berebut) modelling it; Ariz with the stripey side and Hadi had the bouquet side. Until Abah said 'Budak lelaki apa ni..galas beg bunga2'... which apparently saved my bag from destruction..:P

And while i was at it, i make a simple pincushion from Tuna Spread Tin using remnants from my previous rag quilts, this reversible bag handles and flower button. A  very easy project that takes less than 10 minutes.

ITTY BITTY TWIRLY BABY DRESS

Remember the famous Itty Bitty Baby Dress @ Made by Rae?

Inspired by the dress ties at the shoulders.. 

I modified the bodice pattern slightly by making it bigger and wider downwards, then combined it with a full circle skirt.

I add piping around the waist for extra sweetness..

Finished the skirt with red narrow serger stitch (is that the right term?)

The fabric is from Hoffman 'Blooms' that I bought 2 years ago from Nagoya. I have no idea that it can be so elegant on this baby dress. Perfect for the princess first birthday :)

KNITS + WOVEN + SHIRT + DRESS = CUTE!

I have to blogged this. Coz' every "first time' is something that ought to be remembered. For record, this is my first time creating with cotton knits! And the good news to you out there, it is so EASY! So do not afraid to play with it. The basic rule is SEW WITH MEDIUM STITCH LENGTH, and everything will be OK. With this 'hand size' project, I'm not in the position of giving tips on how to handle knits. LOL. There's lots of things i need to learn.

For the pattern pieces, I'm tracing Hadi's 1 year old t'shirt. I'm using the Logantex 95% cotton + 5% lycra knits. 

For the skirt, i used a combination of cotton woven; Modern Meadow, Nicey Jane and Ava Rose. The lining on the neck and arm are also from Nicey Jane. All seams are finished with serged and french seams.

I'm putting this up for sale. Check this out at my FB. It fits 12 to 18 months average sized baby.

RAG QUILT TUTORIAL @ DCF

Sharing a tutorial for a very simple project, RAG Quilt..Click HERE.

Quilt (yg belum dibilas) bersama budak kecik yg suka interprem. This quilt was meant to be a present but who knows, it might ends up become Hadi's. He really loves it and keep trying to use it during the making process. He even started with sleeping on the batting :)).

Fabrics used is Dena Designs (checkered), Japanese cotton (polka dot) and flannel for backing.

MATERNITY TOPS

Last Saturday was really a productive week for me. Despite the dizziness and nausea due to morning, afternoon and evening sickness, I managed to finish TWO maternity tops within a day! Which obviously is not a simple job. The pattern pieces is pretty complex, consists of about 7 pieces each. On top of that I also finished altering 2 pairs of my friend's daughter's kindy uniform. I still can't believe that I can actually go to that extra miles :P.

Okey, let's get back to the tops. Now that my belly doesn't look and feel good anymore in the office uniform, I have to get ready with a few pairs of maternity clothing. The first one below is from Newlook 6748 and made with the gorgeous Joel dewberry Modern Meadow Collection. The colour is awesome!

The second is made based on Newlook 6887 using Sis Boom's Poodle collection. I love it the most! I add extra 6 inch to the front gathered area to give more rooms for the growing belly. Excuse the poor placement of bust area on the mannequin. It doesn't fit that size well.

DELILAH BABY DRESS

Enjoy my latest creation using the sweetest collection from Tanya Whelan, DELILAH. I made this newborn baby dress using my own pattern, I'm guessing the size based on my kid's baby clothing. This dress is gonna be a present to my dear friend, Normah who gave birth to her fifth child 2 months ago. I hope the little baby did not grow up too fast or else she may not fit in this little dress.

I was thinking of putting a tutorial for this baby dress at my DesignerCottonFabric site soon. So, check back often..:)

CUCITO AUTUMM SEWALONG - LONG SLEEVE DRESS

I know the sewalong is supposed to be closed by end of Dec 2010.  I've completed mine in Dec but have no guts to blog about it until today. I hope others also completed their and if you do so, please leave a comment here.

Mine was made from Katie Jumprope by Denise Schmidt. I guessed the original was meant for cotton knit but it works just fine with woven. The above pic looks a little wide because it was modelled on an adult mannequin :).

CRAFTY SWAP

 Hosted by SEWRETROCHIC and supposed to be completed by December end, yet i only managed to post it to Nadia @ adikmanis yesterday. It was actually prepared weeks ago..:)

So here it the things that i make for her, with hope that she will love it. I made a Keyka Lou handphone case, a noodlehead's gathered clutch and a simple version of Rebecca sundress for her cute daughter, Alya. (Nadia, i tak sempat nak buat covered buttons for the back, tp i ada sertakan kain utk tujuan tu..sorry sgt..:(

And here is what i got from Dayang from D'Masyri. A craft book, a wall hanger, lots of cute covered buttons and a clutch frame. I love them soo much! Thanks Dayang..:)

CUCITO AUTUMM 2010 SEWALONG (updated with instructions)

(I'm really sorry for not fulfilling my promise to put pattern pieces here by 1st Dec. I'm into morning sickness thingy; feeling sooo helpless, unmotivated, sleepy, everything :(. Although i'd love to see you guys creating the cutest dress from that magazine, i can't afford myself to do the tracing. So i settled with the most simplest of all; skirts! Feel free to click pictures and instructions below, print it to a readable scale, sew them and share it with me here. )

As mentioned in my previous post, i'm gonna host a CUCITO Autumm 2010 Sewalong from NOW until 31st Dec 2010. If you're interested leave a comment here, grab the above button, sew any patterns from this CUCITO magazines. Don't own one? Don't worry. You can use one simple pattern which I traced from the mags and you can download it here (it will be available here on 1/12/2011)

If you don't understand the instructions, feel free to post any questions here. I'll try to answer it and if not, other fellow crafters will. But please don't ask me to translate the Kanji..:)

Once you finished with the products, send me your photos, i'll published it here. Maybe there's something for the one that catch my attention the most. We'll see. Maybe some yummy fabrics?

REBECCA SUNDRESS

Introducing my latest handmade dress in the 'Compassion for Girl Dress Series', Rebecca Sundress from Olabelhe (have a look HERE). It is always my intention to sew any of her sweet, sassy creations but i've waited for the right mood to come. I don't want to cut off big portion of my precious fabrics if i didn't feel really comfortable doing it. So last night the right mood strike in, and i'm sewing from 8 to 12, stopped just for performing prayers, cooking dinner and having dinner. Fortunately, mr hubby is kind enough to help me with the kids :).

It is very easy working with this pattern..i bet a beginner can do it without much hassle. I'm making the smallest (size 3) but I bet it is pretty lengthy for an average Asian of that age. I bet mine will fit for an average 4 years old girl. Fabric are combination of Fresh Cut and Bijoux by Heather Bailey.And here is the original dress made by Dawn (extracted from the pattern instructions). I hope mine doesn't look much different from this (though i know my pleats is bigger :P)

The dress are not complete yet; there will be a narrow grosgrain ribbon to be sewn just above the skirt and covered buttons for the back. (For photography purpose, i'm just putting big pink buttons  to give a complete look.
